CBD Oil drops or ‘CBD tongue drops’ provide a method to take CBD in liquid form. A quality product will consist of a carrier oil (we use MCT oil) and cannabidiol extract. Some products also include flavourings to enhance the experience of taking CBD drops orally.
The most common and effective method for taking CBD oil is to take it sublingually (drops placed under the tongue). However, they can also be added to food and drinks or even applied directly to the skin.
When comparing hemp oil vs. CBD oil, the key difference is that the two products come from different parts of the hemp plant. Hemp oil comes from the seeds, and CBD oil can be extracted from the stems and leaves. Hemp oil is unrefined whereas cannabidiol oil is usually highly refined in order to isolate the most beneficial compounds of the plant.
The optimal dosage for CBD differs from person to person and can depend on several factors including body weight, height and tolerance. If you’re new to CBD however, we recommend starting with a lower strength oil and taking around 1-2 drops per day. Continue at this dose for at least 2 weeks to observe how it works for you. If after 2 weeks you aren’t experiencing your desired benefits, consider increasing your servings or moving up to a higher strength.
If you have been using 50mg or 200mg concentration and are taking more than 6 drops per day, we recommend moving to up to a higher strength oil. You’ll find you will need to take far less drops which will be more cost-effective for you.
There are no known adverse effects from taking CBD and there has never been a case of anyone ‘over-dosing’ on cannabidiol.
